SPARC FOUNDRY develops and produces photonic semiconductors as part of a strong European photonics ecosystem.
The foundry will produce PICs (Photonic Integrated Circuits) and discrete components based on Group III‑V semiconductors. It will have the capacity to develop 20,000 wafers per year with different types of technologies based on Group III‑V materials, including GaAs (Gallium Arsenide), InP (Indium Phosphide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride). These components are used across industries such as automotive, telecommunications, quantum computing, consumer electronics, defence, aerospace and medicine.
⭐ What will you do with us?
As Finance Manager you will play a central role in ensuring financial health, enabling strategic decision‑making and supporting the scale‑up of our photonic foundry. You will partner across the organisation to deliver accurate reporting, budgeting, and controls while fostering a culture of ownership and transparent communication.
Key Functions
Lead the monthly financial close, prepare management accounts, and present clear, honest financial insights to leadership and stakeholders.
Own budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning processes; drive scenario modelling to support strategic decisions.
Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies and processes to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Partner with cross‑functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial) to translate operational activity into financial metrics and influence cost optimisation.
Drive process improvements and automation in finance operations to increase efficiency and enable timely, accurate reporting.
Own relationships with external advisors, auditors and banks; support fundraising activities and grant reporting as needed.
At this moment you will be the first person working in Finance with our CFO and being supported by our Office Manager. Our idea is working with you for onboarding and leading future team members as soon as the company will growth in revenue and complexity.
🧠 What skill set are we looking for?
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience with 5+ years in finance roles, preferably within deep tech, manufacturing, or semiconductor sectors.
Strong technical finance skills: management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, and financial controls.
Experience with ERP systems and financial automation tools.
Excellent communicator with a commitment to honest communication—able to explain complex financial information clearly and constructively to non‑financial colleagues.
Demonstrated ownership and proactivity: you identify issues early, propose solutions and follow through to implementation.
Problem‑solving mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Motivation to work in a fast‑growing photonics foundry and willingness to learn technical and operational aspects of our business.
Leadership potential: experience leading or mentoring a small team and helping others grow.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

This position includes the following annual salary range €35.000 and €45,000 gross. Specifics will be discussed during our first conversation.🛫 Clear and adaptive paid time off
