Let us tell you a little bit about Sparc 🚀
Sparc FOUNDRY develops and produces compound semiconductors as part of a strong European ecosystem.
The foundry will produce PICs (Photonic Integrated Circuits) and discrete components based on Group III‑V semiconductors. It will have the capacity to develop 20,000 wafers per year with different types of technologies based on Group III‑V materials, including GaAs, InP and GaN. These components will be used by industries around the world in sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, quantum computing, consumer electronics, defence, aerospace and medicine.
⭐ What will you do with us?
As Project Manager, you will lead cross‑functional programmes that deliver next‑generation compound semiconductor capabilities from concept through to industrialisation. You will manage scope, schedule, budget and risks while coordinating engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, sales and external partners to ensure on‑time delivery and technical excellence.
The projects in Sparc have different nature always being part of Electronics/Photonics semiconductor manufacturing:
Customer Projects: Leading projects in close collaboration with the Sales team, overseeing the entire customer journey from opportunity definition through wafer manufacturing and delivery, ensuring customer requirements are successfully translated into production outcomes.
R&D Projects: Leading cross-functional stakeholders in the development of Sparc’s proprietary technologies, driving innovation from concept through qualification and industrialization.
Technology Transfer Projects: Leading technology transfer initiatives with specialized world-class partners, ensuring the successful implementation and scaling of advanced device technologies within Sparc’s manufacturing environment.
All of these project are managed under the Sparc Project Framework, where you will play an active role in its continuous evolution. Beyond leading projects, you will contribute to defining, improving, and adapting the methodology to ensure it remains aligned with Sparc’s growth, business objectives, and organizational needs.
Primary Responsibilities on the different projects:
Lead project delivery: Define project plans, milestones and deliverables; monitor progress and take corrective action to achieve objectives.
Customer/stakeholders aligment: to be the reporting and aligment owner in front of the customer or the main project stakeholders (internal or external)
Coordinate cross‑functional teams: Act as the single point of accountability between R&D, process engineering, sales, product, QA, supply chain and external vendors to align priorities and remove blockers.
Risk and issue management: Identify, assess and mitigate technical, schedule and commercial risks; escalate appropriately and implement contingency plans.
Stakeholder communication: Prepare clear progress reports, present at steering meetings, manage expectations and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
Budget and commercial oversight: Track project costs, get the approvals for spending against plan and support contract management and supplier negotiations.
Drive continuous improvement: Capture lessons learned, implement best practices for project governance and improve processes for faster, repeatable delivery.
Ensure compliance & quality: Work with quality and regulatory teams to ensure projects meet applicable standards and readiness criteria for transfer to manufacturing.
Expanded Responsibilities:
Actively contribute to programme strategy and roadmap planning. Mentor junior project staff, foster a collaborative team culture, and support organisational objectives such as technology transfer, scale‑up and industrialisation of photonic and III‑V semiconductor processes.
🧠 What skill set are we looking for?
Education: Degree in Engineering, Physics, Project Management or a related discipline. Relevant certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
Experience: 5+ years managing complex technical projects in high‑technology manufacturing, semiconductor, photonics or similar industries, with proven delivery of multi‑disciplinary programmes.
Required Knowledge & capabilities:
Strong programme planning, scheduling (e.g. MS Project) and financial management skills.
Experience with risk management, supplier coordination and contract management.
Proven experience working in projects with multiple international stakeholders.
Familiarity with quality systems, regulatory readiness and product qualification activities.
Understanding of semiconductor front-end and back-end manufacturing processes, R&D workflows, and technology transfer requirements is a big plus.
Soft skills:
Excellent communicator, decisive problem solver, collaborative team player and effective leader capable of influencing across functional boundaries.Language: Fluency in English (written & verbal).
Finally, as all our team we would really like to work with people who share our same passion for technology, photonics, semiconductors, and integrated optics.
